Our History

RB Sigma, LLC was founded in 2016 by Justin R. Bloyd, a dedicated Continuous Improvement professional. With a background as a National Account Manager at Leggett & Platt’s Furniture component division, Justin spearheaded a highly successful injection molding program for the Office Furniture industry, generating over $25MM in revenue within its first year. It was during this time that Justin developed a deep passion for Lean & Six Sigma methodologies.

In 2018, RB Sigma played a pivotal role in bringing the ComfortAdjust Pillow to market for Enduring Wellness, a wellness company based in Cleveland, OH. With a tight deadline of just 8 weeks before its debut on QVC, RB Sigma leveraged our expertise in Lean Six Sigma and Project Management to swiftly and successfully launch the product.

The following year in 2019, RB Sigma became the first company in the State of Ohio to provide Lean Six Sigma training to High School districts. Through comprehensive training programs, they empowered teachers, students, and staff with traditional Lean and Six Sigma Yellow Belt courses. By focusing on impactful projects within the school districts, teachers and students collaborated to apply the tools they learned to real-life scenarios. This Secondary Education program was so successful that the Ohio Department of Education approved RB Sigma’s Lean Six Sigma curriculum, enabling High School students to earn credits toward their degree upon completion of LSS Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Black Belt courses.

At the onset of the the Covid-19 pandemic in March of 2020, RB Sigma adapted its operations to manufacture N95, Level 1, and Level 3 respirators. Highering over 100 people, we distributed over 80 million pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and organized the charter of an Antonov124 aircraft, delivering millions of products to the Ohio Department of Health at the height of the pandemic in May of 2020. Obtaining NIOSH certification for our N95 respirators served as a testament to our exceptional Quality Management System. In 2021, RB Sigma further demonstrated our commitment to public health by developing ArmorVax, a vaccine management software program that facilitated the administration of over 745,000 vaccines to Ohio residents.

Presently, RB Sigma remains dedicated to supporting our medical customers with a strong emphasis on supply chain management, warehouse and distribution solutions, contract kitting for various products, and consulting services for companies seeking to implement Lean tools. Our unwavering focus on delivering excellence and continuous improvement sets RB Sigma apart in the industry as we continue to make a meaningful impact in healthcare and beyond.

Pandemic Response

As the pandemic hit the US in early 2020, RB Sigma’s customers came calling looking for PPE. RB Sigma quickly deployed their team to source the desperately needed PPE for organizations large and small, local and nationwide. In May of 2020 RB Sigma chartered the world’s second largest cargo plane, the Antonov AN-124 to bring over millions of pieces of PPE from Asia. When importing PPE became prohibitive, they quickly pivoted to manufacturing their own masks and sourcing as many Made in the USA products as possible – most of which from Ohio-based suppliers and that is when RB Medical Supply was formed. From the start of the pandemic to the height, RB Sigma & RB Medical Supply added over 100 employees to source, manufacture and ship PPE products to those that needed it the most. Moving forward, the company is bringing on new products such as medical sleep aids, diabetic care and others to offer well-rounded catalog of medical products.

In addition to PPE and other medical supplies, the RB Sigma team also created ArmorVax – a vaccine management and scheduling software. This unique platform helped to vaccinate over 745,000 Ohioans! The technology, which directly integrates into the patient’s electronic medical record as well as the state registry, allowed for a reduction in time needed to vaccinate 1 person from approximately 15 minutes to under 2 minutes!
